The Journal of Digital History (JDH) – a joint initiative of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) at the University of Luxembourg and the De Gruyter publishing group – serves as a forum for critical debate and discussion in the field of digital history by offering an innovative publication platform and promoting a new form of data-driven scholarship and of transmedia storytelling in the historical sciences.
Job description:
- Assist the Managing Editor in managing Open Journal System (OJS) peer-review platform (https://pkp.sfu.ca/software/ojs/)
- Learn and help describe the editorial workflow of the Journal of Digital History
- Participating to the technical review of articles, to ensure their reproducibility
- Implementing copy-edits and modifications to articles
- Interviewing authors about their experiences with the JDH
As the Journal of Digital History employs state-of-the-art tools increasingly adopted by contemporary historians, this position will help the assistant develop their digital literacy skills.
Requirements:
- Studying history or knowledge in the domain of history; students in computer sciences can apply if they have good knowledge in the domain of history;
- Good English language skills. French would be an asset
- Organized and reliable
- Attention to detail, team spirit and flexibility
